Ouch.. Describe oneself is not the easiest task. Do you incorporate the personal sales representative that so many people seem to put out there... At least for the first three weeks of meeting someone? Do you tell all the fantastic things about yourself and accidentally omit any of the downfalls? No, unlike most people I don't hide behind a curtain and portray myself as I would like to be. Honesty.. that's my choice.

I am ever changing as well as everyone should be. I have the grounds of who I am and my ideals and what I believe in, but I keep an open mind. I believe you can't get anywhere in life without looking at the whole picture and not wearing blinders and focusing on part of the whole. That being said, I am always reflecting and trying to improve what I do and how I am in both my personal and business life. Learning, living and laughing. I enjoy spending time doing the simple things in life and also the outrageous adventures. I have a complete appreciation of the friends and family that I am lucky to have. Without them life is pretty boring and without them its not living. I would be considered by some as a health fanatic but I believe in being fit both mentally and physically. I do spend more time in the gym during precomp preparation, its the nature of competing. Most of the time I'd rather be outside hiking, skiing, rock climbing, swimming with my dog or just about anything I can get into.

I like to think of myself as kind of multi-dimensional in that I have many different interests so it's hard to identify myself with one category or set of likes and dislikes. Some of my favorite things include going to all kinds of movies; reading everything from best sellers to analyses of the economic crisis and of course daily NYTimes; being outdoors biking, gardening and walking my dog; working out swimming, teaching fitness classes and playing tennis; eating and cooking and drinking wine; museums; photography; and music as long as it's not country. I do have a rather boring day job as an accountant, but I need to pay my mortgage.

I am a laid-back girl. I like to have fun on my days off, which are few and far between. I enjoy my favorite tv shows, reading, running, hiking, biking, exploring new things, traveling, spending time with friends and family. I'm a long-time Washingtonian, divorced, with a loving 9 year old girl and sunny 7 year old boy who live with me. Although these kids have consumed most of my personal time over the last 9 years, I have an interesting full-time job with the federal government, squeeze in some exercise, and sing with a symphonic chorus. My most memorable trip was to Moscow and St. Petersburg. I'm a rusty tennis player (people watching me play and trying to be polite say, "I can tell you used to be good!"). I am devoted to my two terrific daughters, my friends, many of whom date back at least 30 years, and my family. I'm a lovable klutz - I danced and sang when I was younger and in high school I became a lacrosse goalie so my interests run the gamut. I was born and raised in the DC area (mostly Rockville and Silver Spring). I moved up to New York for a couple years after college (Queens), and Korea for a few years after that (Seoul), and finally came back to DC for grad school. I worked in education for a long time, but I'm currently working in the museum field which is what I got my Master's degree in and which I absolutely love. Those two fields (education and museums) are definitely my biggest passions and probably the highest on a very short list of subjects that can get me absolutely heated.

Simplicity is what I really thrive on. Simple pleasures tend to keep me going no matter how crazy things might get. That being said, simple pleasures come in all kinds of forms. I'm either really well-rounded or just equally awful at everything, depending on how you view things.

While I'll admit to still loving my video games and comic books, I'm equally as happy with a hammer as I am with a wooden spoon. Give me a cheesy zombie or action movie, or just let me lay on the couch with a great book and I'm content. I'm always looking for a new adventure. Whether it's searching for antiques and old books, running or laying around a park, or driving to another state for the perfect rack of ribs, I'm always up for it.

I've been in the DC area for about 10 years and moved back to Bethesda last year. I try to keep a balance in my life between work, but sometimes work demands a little more time. When I'm keeping that balance I like to stay active (running, hiking, golf, yoga, biking), spend time with friends, fix up the house, or just be lazy (read, watch football, or watch movies - I love Netfix).

I'm the golden age of science fiction. I am a player of games, maker of foods and writer of stuff. I work too much on the things that will kill me and work too little on the things that will save my life. I can talk comics and cartoons or politics and prose. I like to think I've held on to my sense of wonder. I'm full of stories and I want to hear yours. I'm still girl-crazy. I still believe in things. I am not a libertarian. I try to check my privilege. Essentially, I am (onetwothreefourfive, sixseveneightnineten, eleven) twelve, except where I am eight, or sixteen, but I can buy my own drinks and you won't get arrested for touching me in my bathing suit area. I know what I am and I own it. I think you would like me. I'm pretty amazing.

I graduate this May from medical school, and have been accepted to OB/GYN residency in the DC area. What can I say; I fell in love with delivering babies and being part of one of the greatest moments in people's lives.

In undergrad I minored in Art, and still Paint, sketch, and do some photography. More of a hobby now than anything. Being in the DC area is great for all of the free art galleries and the Kennedy Center.

I grew up sailing and just recently bought my first boat. I am in the process of getting her ready to sail from Cape Cod Mass. to DC in June. I've never sailed a long haul before but its always been on my list of adventures.

Other than that I'm a probably not the typical guy you are used to. I believe in humility. Letting your words and actions speak for you are more powerful than a facade; I hate "Peacocking." I'm looking to get out and explore everything life has to offer. I am not afraid to persue my interests which has lead me to play the babpipes among other things. I generally play well with others, and am very easy to get along with.

I'm in a strange place right now. By all accounts, I ought to be a very serious and responsible adult right now, but a good part of me feels that the weight of the real world is a hassle that I just don't want to handle right now. I am a very spontaneous and live-for-the-moment sort of individual, which isn't always conducive with being successful in today's society. However, after having a few months to relax and get the stress of four years of college out of my system, I've started taking a more serious outlook on things, and hope to be making a lovely daily commute sometime in the near future =P

I'm a recent transplant into DC, sort of. I grew up right outside the city, but being stuck in suburbia didn't really give me much of a taste for things. Then I went off to college, gained a good deal of regard for personal freedom, and now I am back in the area, taking a break from work to figure out where I want to take my life. I really want to get to experience the city firsthand in a fun sort of way, particularly the night life.

I am very much a night owl, perhaps even bordering on insomnia at times. It isn't the most convenient difficulties to have, but it gives me plenty of time alone to just think. I often feel that I am a bit of a recluse, though lately I've managed to get out more and have found the joys of night time adventures in the local area.

The way I think about things sometimes is absolutely ridiculous. I've had the tendency to say the most cynical and jaded things before, yet still manage to maintain a mostly positive and cheerful outlook on life. Quite strange, no?

I'm originally from Michigan. I moved to DC for undergrad in 2001 and decided to stick around. I love exploring the city and surrounding areas in my down time. Okay, this is just a place-holder, while I think of something sincere and clever, to say. I find these very difficult to write (e.g., if you could have seen my college essay you would wonder how they ever let me in). I suppose it's the pressure of thinking I'm going to write something that will either make you want to/not want to contact me, which is crazy because I can't read your mind and something I put down here might sound great to one person and terrible to another. As a starting point: I'm from the Midwest originally, but have been out here for 10 years. I chose Washington DC before I had a job here, because I thought I would like living in/near a big city. In spite of the traffic, I was absolutely right. There is more to do here than a person could do in their lifetime and I'm both revisiting favorite haunts and searching for new experiences.

I've had two previous careers (professor and policy analyst), each about 7 years (not sure if that's a pattern) and have just started career number 3, which I hope will be even more rewarding (and if so, last longer).

Being able to make anyone laugh within five minutes of meeting them really sums up how I get through life. What am I supposed to write in these things? Anyway, Hi. I was born and raised in Hong Kong, but I've lived in the DC area since I was 8. During the weekends I love to travel, go out, hit the bars, be spontaneous, and try new things. I'm a true Washingtonian so I know the area really well and can pretty much get anywhere with out a map! (I know a super skill!)

I love to travel and get away even though its hard with teaching. I enjoy exploring DC and finding new fun things to do on the weekends. I enjoy going hiking, hitting the beach, playing golf, and skiing, and snowboarding (yes I do both!). I am a huge Redskins fan and never miss a game. I can be very girly but I love to catch a sports games in person or on TV. I'm very happy going to a brewery as I am kicking back and going to a wine tasting. I love a bit of everything so message if your interested!
